At 16:00 pm on September 17, the second lecture of this semester's "Famous Teachers' University Lecture Hall" series started on the cloud as scheduled. Professor Chengkui Zhong from the Department of Mathematics of Nanjing University was invited as the guest speaker of this issue. More than 30 teachers and students including Professor Zhitao Zhang and Professor Jun Wang of Jiangsu University, Professor Yansheng Zhong of Fujian Normal University, and Associate Professor Fengjuan Meng of Jiangsu Institute of Technology attended this lecture.

Professor  Chengkui Zhong gave a wonderful academic report on the topic of "Estimate of the attractive velocity of attractors for some nonlinear wave equations", which mainly introduced the problems of polynomial decay and the existence of polynomial attractors in infinite-dimensional dynamic systems. Firstly, Professor Zhong explained the research history of attractors in infinite-dimensional dynamical systems and the process of proposing the idea of polynomial attractors. Secondly, he introduced the latest research results of the non-compactness measure polynomial decay and polynomial attractor existence theorem, and elaborated the proof idea in detail, which used the measure of noncompactness, Nakao's inequality and quasi-stability, the polynomial decay is obtained, and then the polynomial attractor's existence theorem is obtained from the polynomial decay. Finally, he introduced the application of the theory to wave equations with non-local weak damping terms.

Professor Zhong's academic report is rigorous in logic, clear in presentation, and deeply analyzes the relationship between infinite-dimensional dynamical system and nonlinear functional analysis theory, which aroused great interest of teachers and students present. After the report, Professor Zhong gave patient and detailed answers to the math problems that everyone was concerned about, and the teachers and students on the scene benefited a lot.

Finally, Dean Zhitao Zhang made a concluding speech for the lecture.
